Quilts 4 Kids square

Again it's been way to long since my last post. And I still don't have much progress to show. I didn't do much stitching, just a square for the Australian Charity group Quilts 4 Kids. I stitched a square with a beach theme for one of the children. The picture is horrible. The blue colours appear much brighter than they actually are. But I took the picture in a hurry and send out the square before editing the picture. So it was already in the mail when I noticed that I should have taken a better shot.

Thinks are also going a little crazy at my day job in a boat upholstery. Spring finally arrived in Finland, most of the snow is gone and the ice at the sea also started to melt already. It will be only a matter of weeks until the sea is ice free and that's why we are so damn busy. Most of the boats have to be ready before they are going into the water again. That means very long working days and not much time for stitching.
But I've started stitching again on my "Old European Sampler" today and I am making good progress. I might get the first part of this SAL ready by the end of the weekend.

Quilts 4 Kids

This is a square that I stitched again for the Australian Charity organization Quilts 4 Kids. It took me only 2 days to finish this project, but I stitched both days from breakfast to sleepy time on it. I hope that the little boy who will receive the Quilts including my square likes it.

Finally finished!

It took me almost 2 month to stitch this elephant. The Square is going to be send to Quilts 4 Kids in Australia. They are making with lots of other squares a nice Quilt out of it and give it to a child as a gift.

Quilts 4 Kids

While surfing the net sometime during last year, I found this homepage of an Australian Charity organization called Quilts4Kids. In this group, they are stitching squares for children with live longing or live threatening illnesses. I was so impressed by the work of the ladies that I decided to join this group. I already stitched a couple of squares last year and started this year again stitching for this group.

This is a square I stitched for a little girl, who requested Beatrix Potter designs. It is already on its way to Australia.

And this square is still in progress. I'm stitching it for a boy, requested animal pattern. It will be an elephant, when it is done. But I'm having quite a hart time stitching it, because it has so many fractional stitches.
